Yes. For logbook services, the service provider will sign and stamp your logbook to meet manufacturer requirements. If the service provider has not stamped your logbook, please contact them directly to arrange a time for them to stamp your logbook.

If you booked through AutoGuru and your booking has been confirmed, you can reschedule to a new date or time. Simply click the 'manage my booking' link on your booking confirmation email. If you need help email contactus@autoguru.com.au. If you cancel or don't show up and don't reschedule (and you have prepaid in advance), a $20 cancellation fee will apply.

If you’ve booked with a workshop, the service provider will usually require your vehicle for the entire day due to scheduling. If you’ve booked with a mobile provider, you will only be without your vehicle for the time it takes to complete the job. Find out more

Most service providers also offer either a drop off or pick up service, where they can drop you off at or pick you up from a location within a 5km radius of their business, or a $10 Uber ride voucher. Find out more

For servicing, inspections and select repairs, we can provide instant quotes. However, some tasks require a quote request to be sent to service providers. You will usually receive at least one quote within 24 hours.

When Should You Replace Holden Rear Shock Absorbers?

The rear shock absorbers on your Holden not only provide the benefit of absorbing bumps and undulations but also keep your wheels and tyres on the road to provide proper traction and handling.

Without them, you’d feel every bump in the road and your steering and brakes wouldn’t work very well at all!

Failed or worn shock absorbers also put extra stress on other suspension and steering components, which can wear them out - so it’s best to have them replaced as soon as they show signs of wear or leaking.

When a shock absorber fails it could be slow progression or instant if something breaks. Signs to watch out for failing shock absorber:

Continued body motion when the vehicle stops
A rough or bouncy ride
Uneven tyre wear
Leaking fluid around the shock absorber
Vehicle sways or rolls on cornering

Holden shock absorbers won't last forever, seals eventually wear and damage can occur. Rough terrain is more likely to overheat and damage shock absorbers much quicker than a smooth surface however at some stage we are likely to drive across dirt roads and hit a few potholes.

In an ideal world, you should get at least 5 years and possibly up to 10 years out of good quality rear shock absorbers, depending on conditions driven.
