When Do Audi Wheels Need to Be Repaired?

A wheel repair on your Audi involves, well, repairing the wheel. We’re not talking about the steering wheel either, we’re talking about the 4 wheels that your Audi travels the road on. Wheels are commonly made from an alloy of magnesium or aluminium, or mixtures of other metals. They’re supposed to be tough, but they’re not indestructible. Wheels on your Audi can still be damaged to various extents and sometimes require repair.

If you’ve scraped a gutter in your Audi and given your wheels some gutter rash, there’s no major reason to stress. This kind of surface damage only really affects the physical appearance of your wheels, and if you’re not bothered by the way they look, you can go without a repair. However, if you want your wheels and your Audi to look as good as new, you’ll need to get them repaired.

If more serious damage has been inflicted on the wheels of your Audi, such as a buckle, crack or large chip, they will need to be repaired. Whilst buckles are hard to see, you might feel them whilst driving, such as through shaking, vibrations or changed driving characteristics.

If you’ve recently hit a pothole in your Audi, ran over a kerb or hit something with your wheel, it’s worth paying extra attention to your car. If something has changed in its driving characteristics, get your wheels inspected by a professional.
