I asked to find a fuel leak as my fuel was and STILL is being depleted at a very quick rate. Now I am out of pocket $1150 with the same problem as he does not conduct thorough tests before and after, And makes you pay the whole sum $$ before you can have your car back even though afterpay and other payment methods are available. This is a very despicable way to run a business.
I asked the customer if they could smell fuel. They said the fuel smell had gone away since fuel tank was replaced. They replied by saying they were getting fuel economy. The vehicle was on 9.6 litres per hundred on the dash which is reasonable for the vehicle of that size. I suggested that the injectors may need cleaning as they changing the fuel tank may have caused an issue and the vehicle has high km. Customer said to do the job and I also quoted on a coolant leak that I had noticed whilst working on the vehicle. I sent customer a written quote of which they agreed to do the work. They responded asking do I offer payment plans of which I do not. I reserve the right to be paid in full before a vehicle leaves my workshop. Have had issues where I have trusted the customer in the past and been left $$$$ out of pocket. I asked the customer to perform a fuel consumption test after picking up vehicle, but rather than do that they have chosen to try and hurt my reputation and will not be welcome back at this workshop.
