Looking for professional car servicing and mechanical repairs in Townsville?

Pitstop Auto Repairs specialises in servicing European car models, including Porsche and Audi, offering expert solutions tailored to your vehicle’s needs. Whether you drive a sedan, SUV, or ute, the skilled technicians at this local repair shop are equipped to provide comprehensive care, ensuring your car performs at its best.

What does basic car servicing include?

A basic car service at Pitstop Auto Repairs provides a thorough visual inspection of vital components such as brakes, suspension, and tyres, helping to identify any potential safety concerns early. Additionally, an oil change is performed to maintain engine efficiency and prolong the life of your vehicle. Regular servicing is essential to ensure your car remains safe, reliable, and compliant with manufacturer guidelines.

Why are brake and suspension inspections important?

Brake and suspension systems directly impact your vehicle’s safety and handling. Brake inspections help identify worn pads or discs, ensuring your car can stop effectively when needed. Suspension checks are vital for a smooth ride and stable steering, particularly if unusual noises or uneven tyre wear are noticed. Both should be inspected during routine servicing or if performance issues arise.

Why choose Pitstop Auto Repairs in Townsville?

The team consists of experienced, certified mechanics who specialise in European models, offering transparent pricing with no hidden surprises. They provide quick and efficient service to minimise downtime, all while maintaining a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

I'm not happy with my experience with them, I payed $200 for a mechanic to come to mine and have a look at my car to see why it was not starting and why it would all of a sudden turn everything off and pretty much die at the lights with no warning. The mechanic didn't listen to anything I told him and didn't really want to hear what I had to say. He had fixed something that had nothing to do with what was really wrong with the car. What he fixed looks dodgy as, he quoted me $817 to fix my alternator which is a rip off as my car is in a different mechanic getting looked at and won't be anymore than $400. TBH I wouldn't suggest them at all to anyone.

Reply from Pitstop Auto Repairs

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and we sincerely regret that your experience with our service did not meet your expectations. At Pitstop Auto, we strive to provide accurate diagnostics and transparent, fair pricing, and we’re disappointed to hear that this wasn’t reflected in your case.  Regarding the initial inspection, our mechanic performed a thorough assessment based on the symptoms presented at the time. We addressed what we believed to be the primary issue which was a coolant leak, your partner handed us the broken lines and was leaking coolant when  started the car ? The car was in limp mode from over heating not an alternator issue.  As for pricing, our quote of $817 for the alternator replacement included the cost of a high-quality OEM or premium aftermarket part ($676) plus over an hour of labour costs. We helped you by providing a onsite service which took over 2 hours to repair the broken coolant line and reset the ECU, ($200)was well under market rate.  The alternator diagnosis is not the issue we wish you the best in getting this changed elsewhere.
