I chose this mechanic because their pricing seemed cheaper than competitors, but I realised in hindsight this is due to upselling. They were quick to add extra charges for additional services but didn’t offer to reduce the price for work that wasn’t necessary—which might be standard practice, but it was frustrating. When I booked, I mentioned I needed a specific part replaced, expecting it to be handled during the service since I provided advance notice. However, the part wasn’t addressed, and I had to ask about it afterward. They claimed the part was discontinued by the manufacturer and that I’d need to source it online myself. After a quick call to the manufacturer, I was able to purchase the part for less than $30 with no issues, making me question their explanation.
