Bridgestone Select Tyre & Auto Bomaderry

I recently booked a service at Bridgestone for my vehicle, costing around $300, with the understanding it was part of the process to get a pink slip. After the service, I was told I needed over $2,200 worth of additional repairs before it could pass rego. The quote included a long list of items — some fair enough (wipers, headlight restoration, brake pads), but many felt excessive or unrelated to a basic roadworthiness check. Things like a $65 engine wash, costly labour for shocks and control arms, and vague part references like "SP/AF/CF" made it feel more like an upsell than a necessary repair list. Everything was lumped together, making it hard to separate the genuine safety issues from the recommended maintenance. I expected transparency, especially when a rego check is meant to assess whether a car is safe and roadworthy — not an opportunity to push over $2K in work with little justification. I’d recommend anyone getting a pink slip here ask detailed questions, get clarification on what will actually fail inspection, and consider a second opinion before agreeing to any extra work.
