Sub tank problem which was initial problem wasn't fixed. Supplied without permission an unnecessary oil filter housing and charged almost $400 for part. Used eight litres of oil but wouldn't pass on the remaining two litres for my emergency spares, charged $105.00 that oil for what a Nissan dealership charges $75, and Nissan give me the two litres left! The car, supposed to be an afternoon job, turned into a two day "job" leaving me having to pay motel for another night as I live in the country. Another $110.00. The courtesy vehicle provided ran out of petrol in less than seven kilometres before I reached a petrol station, it's windscreen had a 5 foot long crack right in line with my eyes AND NO DRIVERS SEATBELT! Oil change, check sub tank, quoted three hundred at most, the bill was SEVEN HUNDRED AND EIGHTY! My local mechanic at Tully Tyres made a phone call with some strong words about ethics. First we are sorry for everything you are unhappy about. All we wanted to do is to make you, our customer happy every time you had your car here. First of all, the car was booked in for a 90,000k Logbook service and we were asked to check if we can fix the sub tank problem. We were never told that you were looking for keeping the remaining oil and if you wish to keep the remaining oil the price for the service will increase because we've paid for the extra oil as well. We cannot match the retail price from the dealer for the oil because we cannot provide anything for free. In regards to the oil filter housing, we have already spoke to you and the workshop who has done the previous service and we believe that the workshop who has done the previous service will pay for the oil filter housing because the clip inside of it for holding the oil filter in place was missing. We believed that both of us know all the details about the oil filter housing and we did not go ahead and replace that without your permission. The reason that the car has to stay overnight was because we needed more time to take a look at the sub tank and we believe that we have already received your permission on that. The reason that the sub tank was not fixed was because it turned out to be an electrical problem that we are unable to repair or diagnose. We want to apologise for our old courtesy car for the unhappy experience. It is a 1990 model car so it is old however, the seat belts are all functional. We took a drive with it after we received your reply and everything is still working fine. The seat belt buckle might be a bit tricky because in order to plug the seat belt into the buckle the red button needs to be pushed down a bit but it still works and it is still safe to drive. We are just a small auto repair shop so we won't be able to provide a brand new car as a courtesy car like any of the dealers. At last, we want to apologise again for your unhappy experience you've had with us. We are not blaming anyone or anything because if our customer is not happy then we have not done our best after all. ... view more
