Kel, arranged to meet us on Thursday night 06/07 at 5.00pm. After attempting to reach him 7 times , he finally turned up at 7 pm, with no phone call or apology. He inspected my Subaru for the shocks and said yes both shocks need to be replaced, I said to him, ok can please service my car on Saturday 08/07 and can you now look at the second booking for my partners car. he opened the bonnet and discovered that the thermostat housing was cracked and leaking fluid, I said please dont worry about my shocks then this weekend , just do the service on my car, and please make sure you do my partners car as a matter of urgency. MY partner has a daughter ( my step daughter) who has a brain injury and mental health issues, and my partner needs to be able to leave at any time of the day or night to attend to her if she is acting out. Kel proceeded to clear the engine light and said to my partner let me know if it comes back on. Within 10 minutes my partner rang me and said the lights are back on. I proceeded to call Kel Thursday night and Friday morning to no avail. FInally around mid day Kel called me and said I need your car the Subaru today, to put it up on the hoist and see what the problem is with the shocks. I explained to Kel, that I am the only Engineer in Canberra and i have 1786 + signaling devices to the ACT Fire Service that need to be upgrade by JUNE 30 2024 and that he was unable to have my car then and that i would ring him as soon as i finished. I reinforced to Kel that my Partners car needed to be fixed on Saturday as well as it was a health and safety matter. HE reassured me that he woulkd have two drivers pickup both Cars on Saturday morning at 08.00am and take them to his workshop. SATURDAY morning arrives and we wait patiently for Kel and his drivers. 08.00am no show 08.30 no show rang kel , oh yes both drivers are on there way, 09.00 no show, 09.30 no show. Finally at 09.45 1 driver turns up, with the explanation of we will do the Subaru first and then come and do your partners car. I asked is this a guarantee asi re explained to the driver about my step daughter. Yes yes yes we will do it today. By 2.00 pm my car hadn't returned and Kel was uncontactable again. At 2,55 pm i was talking to the police on the phone, as i still do work for the police and am an ex detective inspector both in NZ and here. The guys were patrolling the neighbourhood and said oh see your car mate , we going to talk to the driver he is driving and using his mobile, i asked the guys to gie the driver a warning and they did this. The car was dropped to me and i said now my partners car , to which the reponse was oh we will collect it on Monday at 08.00 am. I also then noticed that the shocks in my car had not been replaced. the response was oh we will do that next Saturday. I said ok , he then informed me my dead was only 49% working. I said can you p[lease get a new battery ASAP, either Today or tomorrow and come and replace it. Sure we will do that. My partner cleans for a couple of old 90+ year old women on Mondays, and starts at 07.00am. She then proceeded to rearrange her whole day on Monday to have the car picked up at 08.00 am, as well as myslef rearranging my day to provide TAXI SERVICE. My partner proceeded to ring Kel today to confirm the 08.00 am pickup, to be informed that 1: the pick up wont be till 09.30 am on Monday and then they will run her back to work. 2: the car will have to stay in over night as the parts may not even be there on Monday. My partner explained to Kel that she had reorganized her whole day on Monday and that she will now re arrange it again. She proceed to give Kel the address she will be at , which is 2 kms from his workshop, and she would now have to bring the car in and wait. My partner explained to Kel that she would ring on Monday and if the parts are not in , she will drop the car on Tuesday or when the parts come in. she is VERY CONCERNED about the water leak, Kel knew about the step daughter issues and he has not seemesd to CARE. Then to add insult to injury,tonight i received a bill for my service. AS far as I am concerned the Job on my Subaru is only 25% done, as i have no shocks and a half dead battery,The work on my partners car HAS NOT even started and i had an agreement with Kel that i would pay on completion of all works, Not only did i receive the bill today after 6 pm but it was due payable Today. To put it mildly, two very PXXXed off clients, but we have reassue=red KEL that we would be getting him to complete the job and adhere to the terms of our agreement. At this stage until all works are completed including my battery replacement, we not willing to pay anything I hope Kel understands that not only has he created issues with my step daughter, but by not even replacing my battery, if im required to attend a fire in a building lives coulkd be lost. A basic $250 service turned into a $1200 job. This would have been ok if the very next morning the engine light hadn’t have come on, to then also realise the service book hadn’t been returned. After making a phone call I was told everything would be sorted when I dropped by that afternoon but on arrival no one was aware of my issue. The car was scanned and by “coincidence” the O2 sensor had happened to go the day after the service. I was told that I would receive a phone call with a quote to replace the sensor and when my book was found but I heard nothing and had to make another trip after work for them to look for my book.
