Why do Hyundai i30 water pumps need to be replaced?
The water pump on your Hyundai i30 is what controls the coolant flow through your engine and radiator.

Water pumps can be electric or mechanical belt-driven both can fail over time. When a water pump fails or the seals wear out the pump can leak coolant, compromising the cooling system in the vehicle. Many water pumps are located in front of the engine and driven by the timing belt or drive belt. Depending on the vehicle it can take a lot of labour time to access the water pump. This is one of the reasons why mechanics suggest the water pump is replaced at the same time as the timing belt, as they are typically in the same location.

The issue with the vehicle wasn't as expected. The technician let me know he could make an adjustment and the vehicle would be fine. Only charged call-out fee and 30mins labour saving me money.
